This week, Bigg Boss 19 showcased an emotional moment when contestant Pranit More was affected by a derogatory comment. During a fight, a housemate allegedly commented “Go back to your village”, which hit him hard and made him feel out of place.
In the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Salman Khan discussed the situation openly by expressing his support to Pranit and calling out the casualness of a comment of this nature. Gauahar Khan added her support and strenuously commented that one’s background and identity have no place in the game.
Pranit was visibly shaken, but, thankfully this occurred before the other contestants were invited to provide him support. With Pranit’s episode, there was also a relevant response from Salman and Gauhar that provided him some much needed reassurance. Viewers too noted how comments of this type have no place in the house.
The theme of “Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar” this season has meant that contestants should take more accountability for their actions and their decisions, but this episode illustrated that boundaries should exist in all competitions, including Bigg Boss 19.
