According to reports, the makers have decided to exclude YouTubers and social media influencers from this season’s contestant list, opting instead for a cast comprising only television and film celebrities.
In recent years, digital stars like Elvish Yadav, Abhishek Malhan (Fukra Insaan), Rajat Dalal, and Manisha Rani gained immense popularity through their impactful presence in the Bigg Boss house. Their gameplay, entertainment value, and relatability contributed significantly to the show’s appeal, especially among younger viewers.
However, a recent report by Telly Reporter suggests that Bigg Boss 19 will mark a shift back to its original format, focusing on personalities from mainstream entertainment. The decision is reportedly aimed at restoring a more traditional, celebrity-driven feel to the show.
Casting Underway, Premiere Likely in July
While the official lineup is yet to be confirmed, insiders claim that the casting team has already begun reaching out to popular faces from the television and Bollywood industry. The season is expected to premiere on July 19, 2025, although the channel and production house have not made any official announcements regarding the start date or the final format.
Adding to the buzz, a previous report by Gossips TV indicated that Bigg Boss 19 may run for six months, with the season expected to air until January 2026. In a surprising move, Bigg Boss OTT has reportedly been shelved this year, possibly to focus attention entirely on the main television version.
As in previous years, Salman Khan will return as the host, continuing his long-standing association with the show.
